Jon Ossoff

Senate Georgia U.S. Senate

"Of course, Senator Ossoff is not a flip — he's a protect. But he's very vulnerable, Georgia is extremely voter-suppressed, MAGA is gunning for him, and he's among our very best. Keeping him does help the flip of the whole Senate."

Start with an interview with Jon Ossoff. Then hear the speech from February 7 that has taken the politi-sphere by storm. Senator Ossoff has, perhaps, coined a term that may stick: "the Epstein Class." As in: "It's the Epstein class that is ruling our country." If we, along with Atlanta GA's Fulton County, can get Senator Ossoff re-elected we will have grown our ability to join the "kitchen table" to the democracy movement.

See an interview with Jon Ossoff by Heather Cox Richardson, of "Letter from an American" fame.

And see Dan Pfeiffer's advice to Democrats for "avoiding false choices that bedevil [our] messaging". "The story of the Epstein Files is the story of the American economy. There are two sets of rules: one for the elites and one for everyone else…. This is why the term 'Epstein Class,' coined by Ro Khanna and popularized by Jon Ossoff, is so powerful. It links the economic story that dominates people's lives with the Epstein Files, which dominate political conversations in the media."

Watch Senator Ossoff grill Tulsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence. And see Jon Ossoff on corruption in American politics — a speech making national headlines, followed by Rachel Maddow's interview of Ossoff regarding the speech.

Jon Ossoff was born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1987. He earned a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in 2009 and a master's degree from the London School of Economics in 2013. His career experience includes working as the managing director and CEO of the filmmaking company Insights TWI and a deputy communications chief, campaign manager, senior legislative assistant, and legislative correspondent to U.S. House Representative Hank Johnson. For a thorough biography see Legistorm.

Jon is one of few United States Senators whose campaigns refuse to accept campaign contributions from corporate PACs or federal lobbyists. He has introduced legislation to ban corporate PACs altogether and is leading the charge to ban stock trading by Members of Congress, helping pass a Congressional stock trading ban through a major Senate Committee for the first time. The Race

Ossoff's 2026 race is one of two Democratic-held Senate seats in states Trump won. As of early 2026 this seat was rated a Toss-up by Cook Political Report. On April 13, Cook upgraded it to Lean D. Sabato's Crystal Ball rates it Lean Dem as well. Ossoff's prospects improved markedly when Governor Kemp chose not to run, creating confusion in the Republican primary. Read Force Multiplier's summary of the race.

Open Secrets analyzes the GA Senate race financials — Ossoff is way ahead of his GOP primary field, though national Republican PACs are holding their fire pending a single opponent. The numbers are remarkable.

  • Democratic primary: May 19, 2026Jon Ossoff won
  • Republican primary: June 16, 2026 runoff if needed

NYT reports that the Republican opposition to Jon Ossoff "is a mess." Time Magazine reported that as of May 17, early-voting data showed Democrats with a 15-point turnout advantage — an enthusiasm gap adding to Republican anxieties.

The Opponents

The Republican primary field is divided among three hopefuls — Carter, Collins, and Dooley. American Bridge has detailed reporting: here is a representative case, and here are the others. Whoever wins the Republican primary, the general election remains a toss-up.
