Help the Flip
We are working together throughout New Mexico to act as a "booster club" to help Democratic candidates across the US win their races against Republicans.
We can help our Democratic Congressional delegation by doing our bit to give them a majority in the 120th Congress and as many Senate friends as possible.
Our best bets for flips

Christina Bohannan | Iowa | IA-01 |
law professor, engineer and former State Representative, Bohannan lost to the MAGA incumbent by only 799 votes in a district that Trump won by 8 points. Indeed, Christina got 30,000 Trump voters to vote for her. She says, "Dems are far more motivated [here] and Trump's misguided policies are doing enormous harm to IA and everyone dependent on the farm economy." This is a ready-flip-seat. Update: The Iowa Law Library lists Professor Bohannan's publications β revealing of the skill we can expect from her as Congress tackles FISA reauthorization and information-technology threats. Christina will be in Santa Fe on May 2 β RSVP here. |

Jo Mendoza | Arizona | AZ-06 |
a military veteran and "Arizona Tough", faces MAGA extremist Juan Ciscomani, who won by only 2.5 points in 2024. This is the former Gabby Giffords seat and has 80,000 veterans (Sen. Mark Kelly overperformed in this district) and a 25 percent Hispanic population (Sen. Ruben Gallego also overperformed). She is a standout among eight Democrats in the primary. Update: The Bold PAC endorses Jo Mendoza β the fastest-growing Democratic PAC dedicated to increasing diversity in House and Senate leadership, backed by Senator Ben Ray LujΓ‘n and Reps. Gabe Vasquez and Teresa Leger Fernandez. |

Paige Cognetti | Pennsylvania | PA-08 |
six-year Mayor of Scranton, re-elected twice, moved her city from junk-bond status to investment grade in just that time. Her freshman MAGA extremist opponent won on Trump's coattails by 1.6 points while Trump won by 8.5 points. Paige's opponent is one of the most prolific stock traders in Congress, in blatant contrast to his promises to his MAGA base. A flip waiting to happen. Update: Watch Mayor Cognetti rip into her opponent's record-breaking corruption in office. And read local press on her 2026 State of the City address, including her work to restore voter confidence after years of corrupt practices. |

Janelle Stelson | Pennsylvania | PA-10 |
lost to gun-obsessed Scott Perry by just 1.2%. For 30 years, Central PA and the state capitol, have trusted her broadcast journalism. PA-10's Democratic prospects now enjoy a new governor, Josh Shapiro, running atop the same ticket. Janell has been listening and telling the stories of PA families for decades and is ready to flip her district on our behalf. Update: The Hill (April 23) reports Stelson is raising significant funds to counter the expected MAGA onslaught on behalf of election denier Scott Perry, "one of the most vulnerable incumbents in the House." The Keystone also features her bid to unseat Perry. |

Jon Ossoff | Georgia | Senate |
younger and only ending his first term, Jon is keeping his conflicted Republican primary field of opponents within the margin of error in a state that still tries to suppress the votes of his supporters. MLK's voters and John Lewis' voters and a lot of progressive Georgians (D&R) are up against a muscular MAGA machine. Georgia Senate is a toss-up, y'all. Update: Cook Political Report upgraded this race from Tossup to Lean D (April 13). Watch Jon Ossoff's speech on corruption in American politics β making national headlines β and Rachel Maddow's interview about it. |

Sherrod Brown | Ohio | Senate |
can win this race because he runs for the seat held briefly by JD "coat tails" Vance. MAGA appointed John "corruption-indicted" Husted, to JD-sycophant-Vance's seat. Brown's lifelong theme is "The Dignity of Work.' He will lead our party to the working class, a new middle class, and more poverty reduction in America. 2024 will be a brief coattails-be-damned hiccup in Sharrod's stellar service on behalf of the rest of us. Update: Cook Political Report upgraded this race from Lean R to Tossup (April 13). Hear Sherrod Brown bring us up to date on his race in Ohio β "Still Fighting With Everything He's Got For The People Of Ohio." |

Roy Cooper | North Carolina | Senate |
N Carolinians, D&R, are used to voting for Roy. He term-limited as Governor and runs now on account of the Trump danger. It's a winning combination when added to an enlivened Democratic Party. For the first time in years, it's running in every election on the entire down-ballot, no exceptions. Opponent Watley, a MAGA-DC lobbyist, is unknown even in GOP circles in NC. Care to help NC become our next battleground? Update: Cook Political Report upgraded this race from Tossup to Lean D (April 13). Watch Governor Cooper speak to his supporters in Durham, NC. Newsweek covers recent polling that favors Cooper. |

Mary Peltola | Alaska | Senate |
Mary will win this, and you will love doing it. She served 10 years in Alaska's House starting when she was 24. She won a special election to become AK's sole US Congressperson when her predecessor died in a plane accident. On the stump she admired both her R and D all-Alaska predecessors, but she beat MAGA Sara Palin fair and square. Her opponent opposed Trump until he supported Trump, both with gusto. Update: The League of Conservation Voters endorses Mary Peltola. The New York Times covers new polling on the Alaska race, and Mary announces a big fundraising haul β she'll carry her weight but still needs all of our help. |
